Together with our partners, at wells of hope we are endeavoring to help others who have obtained scars to become stars in life.
In our pursuit to help children of people in prison living with HIV/AIDS ,last Friday(30th March 2007) we met Aidah , a lady whose entire body is almost all covered with big scars after having survived the wrath of her husband who decided to spray sulphuric acid in the one roomed house she was sleeping in at around 3.00am in the night, arising out of a marital conflict.

With Her husband now serving a seven year term and a member of the People living with HIV/AIDS club in Luzira prison,Aidah has to struggle at times failing to maintain her children. Infact she had given away two of the girls to relatives who were using them as baby sitters.

She narrates her ordeal with tears and smiles.She was all smiles when we visited her and also as we went with her to pay school fees for her three daughters Maureen(11 years),Lillian(9 years) and Sharon(6years) .The director of the primary school located in Kawempe has pledged to support these children and as a result of our intervention they have given these children a discount because with the money we are contributing Aidah was worried of looking for more money to top up.

We pray that she will be able to buy the books, uniform and other daily needs for these children.

We believe that God can use all of us turn other people’s scars into stars; they can shine and make it in life.
