Arise
the world is crying out When Jesus says that “ I was a stranger but you
would not welcome me in your homes, naked but you would not clothe me;
I was sick and in prison but you would not take care of me.' In Mathew
25.43, what does He really mean? If men were sure that Jesus Christ was
actually somewhere in the land, in great personal distress, hungry, thirsty,
naked, and confined in a prison, they would doubtless run to Him and relieve
him. I agree with many agitators of a transformation through the propagation of Christianity, because if it was a pill, it’s the wonder drug that is needed in our world today that is deeply wounded and is yearning and crying out for a change. But if this change is to come, the Christian today must arise and preach the gospel with deeds of mercy, So that people may see Jesus talk and walk. Christ is telling us to go out and give, in the verse quoted above, Christ is assuring us that a man who is hungry, thirsty, naked, etc., is his representative, and that whatever we do to such a one he will consider as done to himself; yet this testimony of Christ is not regarded! Well, he will be just when he judges,and righteous when he punishes. Recently I was visiting the Prison department, and on
the wall of the officer in charge of prisoners’ administration hang
a poster with the writings, which had the words, “Praying for prisoners
without caring for their needs is mere hypocrisy”. These words have
continued to speak volumes, these Men, with out knowing have a big message
that they are broadcasting to all of us: To preach the message of Jesus
with action of Love, to give materials for use for the people in need,
it could be food, clothes, shoes. May Jesus be lifted up, even as you
read this article.
