The first session was led by Patricia who explained to the students about Academic Achievement, about how they could be able to achieve success and shine in their academics and future. She asked if each of the students had dreams and what they wanted to be in future. She asked them to have dreams and goals because they contribute to how ones success. She shared with them her personal story of her academic journey and how she ended up where she is. She urged them to have goals and dreams so that they can focus on what they wanted without studying aimlessly. She encouraged the students to have passion for whatever they are doing. She also urged them to make good friends. Friends that will watch out for them, to have accountability partners. People who will follow them up and this way they will feel accountable to each other and motivated to do well and achieve good marks.
She concluded by encouraging them to put God first in everything they do. To seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and the rest shall be added unto them.
The second phase of the topic, Goal Setting was led by Joseph. The session was very interactive. He explained the topic through many illustrations that got the students participating. He talked to them about the advantages of setting goals, how to set goals that can be easily achieved and why some goals are not achieved. He encouraged the students to set goals that are clear and can be achieved; and to focus and stay determined. He also asked the students to pray because after all we as humans make plans, the final plan is from the Lord. He shared with them the bible verse from proverbs 16:3 and encouraged them to trust in God.
