The purpose of the meeting was to address concerns in regard to education support rendered to children with a parent in prison. The meeting was also aimed at getting an update about guardians’ well-being (health, economical, social and physical), get to know their challenges and to encourage them to work harder for their families’ well-being. The meeting was aimed at sensitizing the guardians more about HIV/AIDS in terms of prevention and care.
The meeting began with devotions led by Steve, Marjorie and Stella. Steve preached from the Bible verse Mathew 13:1-23 which was about the parable of the sower. Steve urged the participants to always be doers of the word and listen to the Holy Spirit.
Stella and Marjorie thereafter updated the guardians about their children’s academics (both primary and secondary), discipline and welfare. The guardians were very happy about their children’s performance especially of last year’s primary seven candidates. A guardian was heard saying, “I am happy my child performed well and she was promoted to S.3, I thank Wells of Hope for paying my fees otherwise I wouldn’t know what to do.”
During the meeting, the guardians shared a sumptuous meal. We thank all our friends for supporting families of prisoners.
