On 3rd April 2016, Wells of Hope staff visited students in secondary level; the visitations were conducted with an aim of monitoring the children’s well-being at school. Children in three schools were visited and theses included; St.John’s Secondary School, Makerere High Migadde and Kawaala Secondary School. The children were very glad to see the staff; this was shown on the children’s faces as they welcomed the staff. During the visitations, Ellen Eva Ssuubi (Mrs) encouraged the children to always seek God’s guidance and to always know that they are known and treasured by God; she referenced this from Psalms 8:1-9, and Doreen Kwagala took the reading at St. John’s Secondary School.
Mrs. Ssuubi (Wells of Hope Executive Director) and Marjorie Lunkuse (Wells of Hope Deputy Executive Director) conducted a counseling session with the children. They encouraged the children to open-up to their elders and to value who they are.
The children were also cautioned to always have good discipline and to behave as children of God. The children were very happy to be visited by the staff and joyfully shared about their welfare at school for example Shaban Kasirye said, "I like my school; I like the games we have, I am now the goal keeper for the school football team."
Ivan Ssenyonga was extremely joyful as soon as he saw the staff he repeatedly exclaimed and said, “Wow! I am so happy to see you all, thank you for coming to see me”
The children are progressing well in their academics; it was such a joy for everyone to see that Vivian Twijjuka and Hellen Agumuniitwe are in the lead of their classes as far as academics are concerned. The children expressed their gratitude towards Wells of Hope for supporting them in their education.
"I thank Wells of Hope for bringing me to such a lovely school, I am already part of the football team," said Swaum Nakyanzi who has just graduated to secondary.
We thank all our sponsors and friends for all their continued support for the children.
