We are glad to inform you that on 19th November 2016, 30 girls at Wells of Hope Junior School were helped to understand what menstruation is and how to manage it as an important part of becoming a woman.
The girls understood that it's normal to have cramps, headaches and having a high appetite; to this, they were advised to use pain killers and hot water if it's extreme. In addition to that, they were encouraged to maintain hygiene by bathing regularly, wear clean underwear as well as change their sanitary pads not longer than 6 hours or when they have a heavy flow. The activity was crowned with each girl receiving a package of 5 pads. We thank Mrs Susan Thompson and her daughter Lillian for enlightening the girls.
