At Makerere High Migadde, the children first shared how they spent their holidays. Morice Akena, one of the students had this to share, “Christmas Eve was a little boring, but I enjoyed Christmas the most; I went preaching the gospel to prisoners in Gulu main prison, it was a nice experience because some gave their lives to Christ and I felt so loved.”
Gina and Steve then took a moment to tell the children that they would be leaving for the United States, their home country. However, they encouraged them to continue living their lives in Christ and have them in prayer. The children bid them farewell through encouraging messages. “Thank you so much for your dedicated ministry, love, care and support, it is rare that one will live their homes and countries sacrificing to be with others but I thank God that you have done this for us”, said Mary Nagujja.
Before bidding farewell to the children, Gina and Steve cautioned the children that for whatever they had taught them, they should practice it to give God the glory. Peninah thanked Steve and Gina for all their support and concluded by saying, “you have planted a seed in us and we will pray for God’s grace to have it grow in us.”
