 On
February 3rd of 1998, the State of Texas executed Karla Faye Tucker
Brown for her part in 2 extremely brutal murders committed in June
1983. Media coverage of her execution centered on several factors:
· Karla would be the first woman executed by Texas since
the 1860's
· Karla was a woman (and a pretty one, at that)
· Karla was a born-again Christian
We were flooded with all sorts of information about
Karla's life and got to know her. She's an extremely deep person.
Her life has been through such extremes that it boggles one’s
mind: a childhood full of abuse and neglect, a youth immersed in
a world of drugs and immorality, a sensational brutal crime yielding
society's ultimate punishment, personal redemption, guilt, pain,
facing one's death. Regardless of her path in life, Karla's final
destination was a place many of us glorify: Why?While in Prison
Karla Faye Tucker quit drugs ,and bad influence and experienced
a conversion in her life.She became BORN AGAIN christian.She worked
with in-mates and preahed love and forgiveness.She had a very big
influence on the in-mates.Many of whom turned their lives around.
Yes, we got to know quite a lot about Karla. We should not forget
the victims in this case: Jerry Lynn Dean and Deborah Thornton.
Their lives were cut short by Karla and her accomplice in a most
brutal manner. The story goes that togethetr with her boyfriend
Garret in june 1983,They entered the apartment of FERRY LYNN to
steal a motorbike.Both Garret and Tucker were on HEROIN ,Garret
began beating Jerry with a hammer and tucker ,with an axe in her
hands hacked Jerry’s body.
When Tucker noticed a person cowering in the corner under a blanket,she
swung swang the pick axe again,striking Deborah Thorton on the shoulder.Garret
came and terminated the woman’s life leaving the axe deeply
embedded in the woman’s chest.

Both
Tucker and Garret were arrested,tried and condemned to die.Garret
was saved from the hangman’s blow by aliver ailment which
he died of in Prison in 1993.
Tucker caught the attention and sympathy of many people as her time
to face Mr Hangman drew near.Pope John Paul II ,Bianca Jayger,wife
of rocker Mick Jayger,Pat Robertson,a foremost US religious broadcatser,to
mention but a few,all raised their pleas to have the life of dear
tucker spared.All these pleas met no positive response .It did not
take long ,and there she laid in the death chamber.Her husband,whom
she married on death row and her sisiter Kari, looked on as their
beloved was about to be hanged.The chief executioner in haste inserted
needles into her limbs,she was asked to say her last words.
She turned and smiled at her husband and sister and said.
“I love all of you very much,I am going to be face to face
with Jesus now”.She then turned to the brother of one of her
victims and asked her to forgive.Finally,addressing her husband,Karla
said,”Baby I love you.”
It was this moment that a lethal dose of various chemicals begun
travelling in her body and eventually her heart beat was brought
to a close.And there she went.
Was this the end of Tucker?Althogh Texas Governor ,now president
Of the USA ,President George W.Bush could not halt the penalty,one
day,Tucker is going to asppear before the Judge of all times,who
is faithful and just to forgive,”Lord Jesus”Who will
grant her eternal life.
